My run this morning felt so refreshing and invigorating!
Here's a few pretty photos I took along the way:
Flowers & Lemons
It's great to start off the day hydrating yourself, especially if you're like me and like to indulge in a morning coffee (which has its pluses and minuses, one of the negatives being that it's dehydrating) I like to start my mornings off with a big water, and add a splash of lemon to it!
For breakfast I love toasting a slice of Ezekiel bread, spreading on some almond butter and topping it off with a ton of cinnamon! Typically after I purchase my almond butter I mix in a little Organic grade B Maple syrup to sweeten it up! When I don't have maple syrup on hand I like to sprinkle on a little honey.
Here's just some of the benefits of the ingredients I listed above:
Ezekiel bread - Void of flour - which makes it a bit easier on the digestive system, excellent source of protein and fiber, no trans fats, low glycemic index - which means its not raising your blood sugar, and low in sodium.
Almond butter - Rich in calcium, protein, antioxidants, vitamin C, high in monounsaturated fat and can actually lower your cholesterol.
Honey - Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, and rich with antioxidants. Also, when honey is mixed in some warm water it can help aid in digesting fat stored in your body. Add in a little lemon and cinnamon, and you've got yourself a cozy little drink!
