Living Your Best Life In 2013!

Recently I wrote an article for one of my favorite wellness websites, MindBodyGreen. In the article I share with you an exercise I first created to assist me in living my dream life, one that is aligned with my highest beliefs and values. Not only has the exercise been beneficial in my life, but I now share it with my clients and have seen positive, lasting results!

Super Simple Sweet & Spicy Tea... and juice!

Winter is the perfect time to cozy up next to the fireplace with a freshly made cup of tea, not to mention boost your immunity during cold & flu season! This recipe is one of my favorites and is super simple and quick to make!


Purified water 

Lemon - 

Alkalizing - Lemons are acidic to taste, but are alkaline-forming in the body helping to restore balance to your body’s pH.
Rich in vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, citric acid, flavonoids, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and fiber.
Antibacterial - Works against infections like the flu and colds.
Assists your digestive system in eliminating waste.
Helps regenerate and support the liver

Honey -

Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron

Anti- Bacterial


When mixed with warm water it helps your body digest fat, aiding in weight loss.

Cayenne -


Amazing for cold and flu season - Anti-bacterial, helps break down mucus, and is an anti-irritant so it helps sooth the stomach and throat.


After boiling your water, add in ingredients to taste. Don't over do it on the cayenne!


What's better then this super yummy tea? The juice version! Using the same ingredients and formula, pour in large pitcher/container and store in fridge to cool. Voila, now you have a super yummy juice with amazing health properties to satisfy your thirst all day!

Around Town: The Sweat Shop L.A.

At first glance an Infrared Sauna might look like your typical traditional sauna, but there's a few key differences. Infrared Sauna's use infrared heaters that emit i.r. heat which absorbs into your body comparable to natural sunlight, insuring deep tissue penetration. Traditional saunas heat the outer room temperature to around 200 F and some use steam which can spread bacteriaInfrared saunas emit wavelengths of light spectrum heating your body's core and temperatures range from 140 to 150 F. 

Benefits experienced from the Infrared Sauna Sessions can include:

My Experience: 
The Sweat Shop LA's space is gorgeously handcrafted with wood and stone, as are their saunas which are made from exquisite eco-certified cedar. The staff is kind and informative, the shop has beautiful items for sale (jewelry, crystals, and native american blankets), and they offer a plethora of services anywhere from deep tissue massage to a reiki session. Before entering a sauna session I opt for a cayenne shot which increases my body's perspiration in the session.

The individual rooms are equipped with a personal shower that includes organic shampoo, conditioner and body wash.  Each sauna is outfitted with a cd player which allows me to bring my own music and guided meditations to help relax and keep focused during the session. When I enter the sauna I sit back and relax. If I get too hot, I open the door for a minute to let cool air flow through and hydrate with the water they provide. It turns into this amazing willingness and strength...trying to push myself to stay in for as long as I can. At the end of my time, not only do I feel rewarded but proud of the time I stayed in there, knowing how healing it is for my body. As I dry off, I'm actually able to see my body's eliminated toxins as dark spots on the white sauna towels. I follow up with a mineral shot to help rehydrate my electrolytes. Leaving I feel refreshed and calm...my skin feels amazing. I highly recommend trying an infrared sauna session at The Sweat Shop LA!

This "LA inspired mama" has been inspired to recreate her site. So much has happened this past year... I have truly grown alongside my children as I watched my son turn 1 and my daughter enter into kindergarten. I've been moved by seeing the positive, transformational changes in my clients and friends lives. I had the pleasure of meeting some of the insightful teachers who have inspired me along my journey such as Brené Brown, Gabrielle Bernstein, Marianne Williamson and Mastin Kipp. I've also met so many beautiful people through blogging, and the holistic health & wellness community. All of these experiences have had such a positive impact on my life this past year and pushed me towards my next chapter... Be well, Beautiful!

 I first began blogging with the intention of sharing inspiring information, personal interests, day to day life, and my parenting experiences. While I will continue to incorporate personal stories, Be well, Beautiful's main focus is sharing holistic wellness & lifestyle information that will enrich and nourish your life, like it has mine.

The Best Quinoa Recipe Ever

The Best Quinoa Recipe Ever

What you'll need:

+ 1 Cup of Quinoa (Any style)

+ 2 Cups of water or Vegetable broth

+ 1 Lemon

+ Insert your favorite vegetables to lightly steam or sauté here

Here are some of mine:

Vegetables to cook

+ 1/2 Purple onion

+ 1 Zucchini

+ 2 Handfuls of Crimini mushrooms

+ 1 1/2 Handfuls of Kale

+ 2 Handfuls Spinach

Raw vegetables 

+ 1 Handful of Cherry tomatoes

+ 1/2 Handful of Sun dried tomatoes 

+ 2-3 Garlic cloves


+ 1-2 tablespoons Organic virgin olive oil

+ 1-2 tablespoons Organic balsamic vinegar

+ Pre-made pesto sauce

+ Freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste

Himalayan Sea Salt

+ Lemon Pepper

+ Garlic Powder

Let's get cooking:

・Start cooking your 1 cup of Quinoa & 2 cups water (together). Once boiling, simmer and cover for 10-20 minutes 

While your quinoa is cooking - chop, and start sautéing or steaming your "Vegetables to cook"

 *Remember not to overcook your vegetables! You still want to be able to reap the benefits and absorb the healthy nutrients these amazing vegetables provide us with. ❤

Season your vegetables lightly with Himalayan Sea Salt, Garlic powder & Lemon pepper

 + on the side - mince garlic cloves, dice cherry and sun-dried tomatoes

Once your quinoa is ready - mix it with 1-2 tablespoons organic virgin olive oil and 1-2 tablespoons organic balsamic vinegar to taste

 + mix the pesto sauce into your quinoa *to taste

 + squeeze in lemon juice *to taste

・Once your vegetables are done cooking - mix the cooked & raw veggies into the quinoa 

 + additional seasoning *to your taste


 Side note: Of course it will taste Amazing right away, but I find after it sits in the fridge for a few hours it becomes more flavorful. Also, I named it "the best quinoa recipe ever" because it's been the best I've tried so far. Hope you enjoy too!
